Chad Heeter       1/25/1974 - 6/27/1995

Chad Heeter, 21, 1201 Jackson Ave., died at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 1995 from an accidental drowning on Elk River at Noel.

Chad was born January 25, 1974, at Denver, Colo. He lived most of his life in Joplin. He worked for Farmer’s Chemical Co., Joplin. He was graduated in 1993 from Joplin High School, where he was a member of the football team and Students Against Drunk Driving. He attended Central Methodist College, Fayette, on a football scholarship. He was a member of the St. Peter and St. Paul Catholic Church, Pulaskifield.

Survivors include his parents, Steve and Terri Heeter, 226 St. Louis Ave.; two sisters, Nicole Heeter and Erica Heeter, both of the home; his maternal grandparents, Ivan and Betty Harrall, 1605 Ohio Ave.; and his paternal grandparents Charles and Teresa Heeter, Pierce City.

Samuel Ray Toliver       6/23/1975 - 1/24/2008

Samuel Ray “Sam” Toliver, age 32, of Joplin, passed away as the result of a homicide on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, in LeMars, Iowa, where he had been working.

Born June 23, 1975, in Joplin, he was a lifelong Joplin resident.  A certified welder, he had been working for Central States Mechanical in Iowa and Dwyine Mechanical of Columbia, Minn. He attended College View Baptist Church. He loved fishing and was a great fan of Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

Survivors include his parents, Kevin Lee Toliver and Flossie M. Woods Toliver, of Joplin; two daughters, Mikala Toliver and Hailey Toliver, of St. Peters, Minn.; a brother, Nick Toliver and wife, Megin, of Joplin; a sister, Meri Toliver, of Joplin; fiancé, Charleana Flowers, of Galena, Kan.; his good friend and the mother of his children, Melissa McBride, of St. Peters; a nephew, Lennon Toliver; a niece, Kylee Toliver; an aunt and uncle, Barbara and Bob Patton; and a host of cousins and friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 30th, at Parker Chapel with Rev. Ray Hartline officiating. Interment will follow at Osborne Memorial Cemetery.
